Clr. John Fahy.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to the people
of Killenaule-Moyglass for their wonderful support to me in the
recent local elections. I acknowledge that it is an honour and
privilege bestowed upon me, to be elected as your representative
as a Member of South Tipperary County Council and I earnestly
look forward to working on your behalf in the future.
With Renewed Thanks
Clr. John Fahy.
Our Church History.
A history of our parish church compiled by the students of Scoil
Ruain can be seen at the back of the church. This involved visiting
the church, writing records and taking pictures of the church and
putting it all down in writing and through photos taken by themselves.
This display is well worth a visit.
Keeping Killenaule tidy.
Students from Scoil Ruain and young children from Hilltop Playschool
took to the streets of Killenaule in the past few weeks on a cleanup
of litter in the town. It is now hoped adults will follow their
example and make an effort to keep the town tidy. Ten years have
passed since Killenaule last entered the Tidy Towns Competition.
The local committee first entered in Tidy Towns in 1967 and won
many prizes during the following years. It would cheer up the
town if some hanging baskets and window boxes were displayed.
Garden Club. Members
of the garden club will visit Glanbia Fethard Garden Centre on
Tuesday 9th June and a demonstration will be given by a horticulturist.
Members to meet at the Car Park in Main Street at 6.30pm.
Folk Choir.
Practice on Wednesday 10th June at 7.15pm in St. Mary's Hall.
Senior Citizens. Next
Meeting on Wednesday 10th June at 2.30pm in St. Mary's Hall. Denise
Moloney Irish step dancer will perform. Names will be taken of
members travelling on summer outing on Wednesday 8th July.
G.A.A. Thanks
to all who supported the forecast on last Sunday's match between
Cork and Tipperary results will be published next week. Player
of the week is Killian O'Dwyer who was outstanding at wing back
for the U10's. Player of the past is Chris Cooke. Chris was a
very promising underage player, but emigration took him to London
where he won three London titles with Brian Boru's. He was named
hurler of the year three times in London. He won a South Tipperary
final with Killenaule in 1985 and was unlucky not to win the county
the same year. .
