Scoil Ruain. Congratulations
to James Carroll, Third Year and Hannah Frister, Fifth Year who
received their awards as finalists in the Pramerica Spirit of
Community Awards programme recently. Hannah who was nominated
in recognition of her voluntary work with Camphill Duffcaraig,
a residential home for adults with special needs and James for
his work with P.A.W.S. Animal Rescue Centre each received an engraved
silver medallion and 500 euro.
Killenaule Vintage Rally-Fun run. This
year the fun run is on Sunday the 26th April 2009 in the Centra
car park.Vintagh cars come to Killenaule from all over the country
for this event. It is a day when owners of old cars meet and show
us the beauty of cars of other days first car leaves at 12 noon.

George Plant Commemoration.
This Easter Sunday 12th April the annual George Plant Commemoration
will take place at St.Johnstown graveyard at 3pm.The graveside
oration will be given by David Dunne, Carrick-on-Suir,the Sinn
Fein candidate for the Fethard Electoral area in the forthcoming
Council Election. The Carrick-on-Suir Republican flute band will
be in attendance.
St. Mary's National School.
The Parents Council of St.Mary's National School wish to thank
most sincerely all those who supported their recent cake sale
and all those who did some baking.Your support is greatly appreciated.
Garden Club. Reminder to
all members, monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday 14th April
in Sports Complex at 8pm.
Killenaule G.A.A Killenaule
U-21 hurling team had their first outing of the season last Saturday
in the South Tipperary championship. The game was played in Monroe
and Killenaule came out winners by 4-13 to 3-14. Unfortunately
the Senior Football team lost to Loughmore/Castleiney in the Co.
League on last Sunday by 2-10 to 0-8. Killenaule U16 ladies football
team in a top of the table clash defeated Thurles Sarsfields by
8-4 to 1-6. The team is now assured of a semi-final spot.
Killenaule/Moyglass People of the year
Awards. 2009 In aid of Killenaule G.A.A. Club will
be held in the Sports Complex on Friday 14th April at 8pm. There
will be live music and irish dancing during the night.

Week 4-04-09
Presentation. On this Friday
the 3rd April in the Village Inn Moyglass at 8.30 p.m. a presentation
to Fr. James O'Donoghue will take place in appreciation of his
wonderful service to the parish of Killenaule and Moyglass. All
are welcome to attend.
Visit to St.Patrick's Hospital.
Mermbers of Killenaule I.C.A. guild paid their annual
visit to the residents of St.Patrick's Hospital on Sunday 29th
March and presented gifts to those from our parish. Entertainment
was provided to all those in male and female day rooms. Mary Sirr
and her group entertained the ladies and Joe Carroll entertained
the men. Thanks to assistant Matron Joan and her staff for the
welcome and help given.
A.G.M Killenaule I.C.A. will
hold their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 7th April in St.
Mary's Hall at 8.p.m. All members are requested to attend and
new members are welcome.
Garden Club Next meeting
is on Tuesday 14th April in Sports Complex at 8pm. Bring and buy
sale, proceeds supporting Daffodil Day Fund.
Killenaule G.A.A Congratulations
to the Senior Hurling Team on defeating Clonoulty/Rossmore last
Sunday by 2-12 to 0-13. Best of luck to the Senior Football team
who take on Loughmore/Castleliney on next Sunday.
Sympathy - We wish to offer
sincere sympathy to the Family and Relations of the late Mary
Hennessy of Graystown, who passed to her eternal reward in her
101st year. To John, Mary, Paddy, Mella and Eileen. Mary who enjoyed
good health up to her final days lived life to the full. In her
death she has left us with a legacy of memories. In late February
Mary was joined by her Sons Daughters, grandchildren and 19 great
grandchildren at a special birthday celebration in the Park Hotel
Clonmel. On that night Mary raised over 3,000 euro for the local
Hospice movement. May she rest in Peace.

Coolquill A.C. Congratulations
to the Prout brothers Shane and Darren who both took All Ireland
Titles at the National Athletics Indoor finals in Nenagh last
weekend. Shane competed in the Triple Jump under 19; won with
a fine jump of 12m-94cm .His younger brother Darren won gold in
the under 13 , 60 meters hurdles, He also won silver in the long
jump with a fine jump of 4m52cm. Our other competitor Lorain O'Shea
finished 5th in the girls under 16 long jump.
