Presentation night - Coolmoyne and Moyglass Vintage Club will make a presentation to South Tipperary Hospice Movement of fundraising proceeds of Vintage Run 2008 at a function to be held in The Village Inn, Moyglass on Friday 29th of August. Music & Food. All welcome.

Active Retirement on Tour - Members of the local active retirement group are leaving for a tour of Austria on this Saturday 30th August. Coach will leave from outside St. Mary's Primary School at 12.30 p.m. for Dublin Airport and flight to Salzburg Airport. Wishing all who travel an enjoyable time and safe journey.

I.C.A Meetings Resume - Local guild I.C.A. resume meetings after summer break on Tuesday 2nd September in St. Mary's Hall 8:00 p.m. Competition for best homemade jam, marmalade or chutney. Social half hour, music for dancing by our regular teacher Maura.

Senior Citizens - Meetings resume on Wednesday 10th September in St. Mary's Hall 2:30 p.m. Special guest will be the well known Stephen Grace who will entertain the members for the afternoon. Usual game bingo & refreshments.
New members welcome to join.

Garden Club - Next meeting on 9th September in sports Complex 8:00 p.m. More details later.

Sympathy - Sincere sympathy to Michael Moloney and family on the recent death of Mrs. Patricia Moloney, Cloughjordan. Mother of Michael. Rest in Peace.

Recent Death - The death took place in England recently of Syl Shaw aged 98 years, late of Shaws Cross and last surviving member of that generation of Shaw family. Sincere sympathy to his family and relatives.

May They All Rest In Peace.

Week 18-8-08

Healing Mass –

St. Mary’s church Killenaule was packed to capacity on Sunday 17th august from 2.30 pm to 7.00 pm for the visit of Eddie Stone, well known for his healing. The response of all present was marvellous and people were overcome by the man who gave them healing in mind and body.
Those who attended wish to thank Canon Liam Ryan for organising this special occasion, to Father Meagher visiting priest for celebrating Mass , to all the other priests who assisted by hearing confessions, Eucharistic ministers, readers, the Bailey family for sacred music, sacristans, stewards and caterers.

Gold for Killenaule –

Congratulations to the under 15 girls soccer team Killenaule who won the all Ireland final that took place in Mosney at the weekend, receiving gold medals. Semi final was held Saturday morning at 9.30 a.m. in where they beat Blessington Co. Wicklow 2-1. Emer Barry scored the first goal in the first half and Hazel Blackmore scored in the second half. Ten minutes to go Blessington scored their only goal. The girls went into the final meeting Donegal who beat Galway on Saturday. Final took place on Sunday at 11.00 a.m. beating Donegal 2-0. First goal was scored by Hazel Blackmore after 10 minutes of play and the second half saw Katie O’Regan score a goal. Well done to the girls who prepared very hard for the last two weeks getting up early during their holidays for training session every morning at 9.00 a.m., as they were aware that the games would take place during the holidays.
Team names – Goal: Hannah Stapleton. Backs – Nell Trehy, Caroline Corbett, Aidin Murphy and Ruth Kelly. Mid Field – Amy Hannigan, Katie O’Regan, Roisin Trehy and Bridget Doyle. Strikers – Hazel Blackmore and Emer Barry. Subs – Sharon Grace and Sophie Meehan who played very well when brought on.
Special thanks to their coach Sean O’Regan and manager Alma Murphy who have worked hard with this team to get to the finals.

Killenaule Floods –

Residents in parts of the town and outskirts did not escape the heavy rains that caused havoc in the country but not as bad as other areas. It will take some weeks before the bridge in Ballinunty will be reopened. Detours are marked out.
