Tipperary’s Biggest Ever All-County Table Quiz
Tipperary County GAA Board in association with Tipp FM and Killenaule GAA Club will host Tipperary’s Biggest Ever All-County Table Quiz. It will be broadcast live on Tipp FM. Quiz Master will be Fran Curry. Targeting 1,000 tables. Local Contact is Sean Watts. Supporting the preparation on Tipperary County Teams in 2013. Local heats on Friday March 15th in the Village Inn Moyglass. 

  • Open to all Tipperary GAA Club Units and Associations
  • 80 General Knowledge Questions (10X8 Rounds)
  • 9.00 pm Starting Time at all venues
  • €40 entry fee per table – tickets on sale in advance @ €10 per person
  • Clubs may retain raffle proceeds on the night
  • Qualification for County Final from heats as follows:
    1. Minimun tables to qualify as heat = 5 tables
    2. 0 – 14 tables – one team qualifies
    3. 15 – 24 tables – two teams qualify
    4. Over 25 tables – three teams qualify

The Flying Nun – Sr. Patricia Wall Celebrates 75th Birthday With A Fall From The Sky
Sr. Patricia Wall- Chairperson of Slieveardagh Rural Development is doing a 10,000 ft Skydive on the first week of May this year. She is doing the Skydive to raise funds for AWARE (suicide & depression awareness) and also to help projects in the Slieveardagh Area of Glengoole, Killenaule and Ballingarry. The Skydive Story has being featured in the National Newspapers including: The Daily Mirror, The Daily Star, The Irish Examiner, The Daily Mail. The story will be covered in the local newspapers next week. A Facebook and Twitter Page have being created on Tuesday last and so far the Facebook Page has 274 likes and has being shared through Facebook users. Sr. Patricia has being interviewed by Radio One’s John Murray, Tipp FM and Ray D’arcy of Today FM and Cork Radio. Vincent Browne on TV 3 mentioned the story on his show. A page has being set up on mycharity.ie where you can donate to this worthy cause. There is also a Bank Account set up if you would like to lodge money to it. The Christmas Lights
The Committee sincerely thank all who supported our fundraising for 2012 Christmas Lights. We are grateful for your generous support to the collection boxes. Special Thanks to the Local businesses that supported us and to all who supported the Table Quiz Night.

Lourdes Invalid Fund Committee
Wish to ask for applications from parishioners who may wish to be sponosred to travel on the Cashel and Emly Pilgrimage this year. Date: June 16 – 21st. Boxes for names will be placed at the back of both Churches and please place all names before 24th March.

For Lourdes Invalid Fund will take place at both Churches on 23rd/24th March 2013.

Senior Citizen’s Club
Is on Wednesday 13th March from 2.30 – 5.00 pm. Easter Bonnet Competition or St. Patrick’s Day Bonnet, looking forward to seeing you all again. New members are welcome. Call Mary on (087) 6486114.

Late Joan Kelly
The Late Joan led the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 pm every Wednesday in the Prayer Room. At 3 pm on next Wednesday in the Church, Mass will be offered for the Repose of Her Soul. All are welcome. It is hoped that there will eb a great gathering of people, as we remember Her. You do not have to be a member of the Eucharistic Adoration Group. All are welcome.

Holy Hour – Bailey Nursing Home
On this Tuesday from 2 pm – 3 pm. Those leading the Holy Hour, if you have a relation in the Nursing Home – do come and join us on Tuesday. Kitty O’ Connor & Mary Delaney will lead in Prayer.

Easter Sunday Morning On Derrynaflan
The usual Mass of the Dawn will take place at 6 am on the Island as on former years. Just a reminder that the clocks will be put forward one hour with the arriving of New Time.

The Road To Derrynaflan
We are grateful to Pat Lanigan for his magnificent work on the entrance to the Island. We are sincerely grateful to Pat for his contribution of lorries and men, to make the road more accessible and to make driving onto the Island much easier.

Scoil Ruain – Great Occasion
Wednesday 6th March was one of the greatest occasions in the History of this Great School, with the Opening of the New Sports Hall. The Offical Opening took place by the Minister of Sport Mr. Ring. From early morning crowds were gathering from every Walk of Society to be part of a great occasion. Speaker after speaker were loud in their praise of the community spirit behind the Project. School Looking At Its Best
To the forefront in the preparation for the day were huge numbers of young people across the Parish, who lent a hand to cleaning and painting and having the school and grounds in pristine condition. Opening up the great possibility of calling them, asking fortheir help, right across the Parish, in turning their town into a beautiful and welcoming town for generations to come.

Confirmation Preparation Course
With Confirmation Day on 23rd April 2013, the preparations continue across the Parish in our 3 Primary Schools. The voices of our Young People can be heard in our schools singing under the direction of their teacher. 75 students will receive Confirmation at the hands of Archbishop Clifford.  It is hoped that shops and business people will decorate their premises for the occasion on Tueday 23rd April 2013 at 11 am.

Names are being taken for the banjo classes as these were very successful in 2012. The lessons will run for 10 weeks 7 – 9 each night. Must have own banjo. 4 places remaining.
Advanced Banjo Classes – Will commence once fully booked
Adults who have basic banjo skills will upgrade their skills and move onto more advanced banjo. Must have own banjo. Classes will run for 10 weeks 7 – 9 each night. 4 places remaining.

Getting Married In The Catholic Church
1. You are required to give 3 months notice to the Priest where the Marriage is celebrated.

The Slieveardagh Lotto is held on Tuesday Nights, this week the Lotto will take place in Slieveardagh Cultural & Enterprise Centre.  This week’s Prize Fund is €16,350.00– Jackpot: €16,150.00. Tickets cost €2.00 and are available in Slieveardagh Centre Killenaule, Shops, Pubs and Post Offices in Killenaule, Ballingarry, Glengoole, The Commons, Gortnahoe, Grange, Ballysloe and Ballynonty.
