Discovering Slieveardagh’s Mining Past

The Old School Mining Museum Project

Day long fully guided tour of local Industrial Heritage sites visiting mining structures with local experts and ex-miners. This full day also includes a light lunch and time to explore an exhibition of mining artifacts and photographs and see short films about the local mining past. The sites we will visit are in fields so we advise you bring suitable footwear and raincoats.

 

Times/Venues Tour Date

Saturday 27th August 9:30 AM to 16:00 PM

Tour starts at The Old School, The Commons, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, and returns to the venue for light lunch.

 

Cost/Booking

Admission is free to this event but must be booked.

There is no wheelchair access to the mining structure sites and the tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
