Wildlife Photographs by Clodagh Blake
Clodagh Blake from Killenaule is an award winning photographer and is hoping to mount an exhibition of her wildlife photographs in the near future. In the mean time she has shared a few of her more recent pictures with us here.
Long Eared Owl
Took this photo at Phoenix Park, Dublin. After searching high and low I finally found this beautiful species which is resident in woodlands of Ireland though not usually seen in daylight hours.
Puffin with Sandeels
Took this image on Great Saltee Island off the coast of Wexford, Puffins come every year to breed on the Island. They are known as Clowns of the Sea with their black plumage and coloured beaks (which they only have during the Breeding season). After breeding and rearing of their young they live their lives out at sea during the winter.
Great Spotted Woodpecker
This is the first official image taken of this species in South Tipperary as confirmed by Birdwatch Ireland. The Great Spotted Woodpecker was a rare species in Ireland back in the 1990’s but is now making a comeback, spreading from the east coast to the rest of the Island.

Great photos. Do you have a date for an exhibition?
Hi Dorothy, no date set yet, if we hear anything we’ll post it.
